Recent Paintings
Many meetings are notoriously difficult.
This is one of those paintings that was very tortuous to create. It started simply enough from some drawings of a small meeting that was happening in the Wellcome Reading Room. I remember being very pleased with the main figure in my painting initially (see below) whilst also knowing it was so wrong. It was many months before I was brave enough to eliminate it and any idea of having people in it at all!
